John Dewey

He was born October 20, 1859 in Burlington, Vermont, USA. Coming from a farm family, he earned his doctorate at Johns Hopkins University. In 1884 he was made an instructor of philosophy al the University of Michigan. In 1918 he created the laboratory School al the University of Chicago. It lasted 7 years and served as experimentation and proof of his pedagogical ideas. It later became a stimulus and example for other experimental schools annexed to univerties and independent schools. He died in 1952.
